Meet Dr. Ronald Unterseher

Ronald Unterseher, DDS, MS

Dr. Ron, as his patients and staff call him — is a father and grandfather. He cares for each patient as he would his own family member, with the greatest respect and compassion. He focuses on the person’s health, treatment goals, and the long-term stability of their finished smile.

Prior to opening Unterseher Orthodontics, Dr. Ron attended the University of Nebraska, where he completed his:

  • Bachelor of Science (1974)
  • Doctorate of Dental Surgery (1979)
  • Master of Science and certificate in orthodontics (1981)

Dr. Ron served for three years as an orthodontist in the United States Army. Stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany, he treated the dependents of active-duty personnel stationed in the area.

Following his service, Dr. Ron opened his orthodontic practice in Westminster. That office thrived as a result of referrals from former and current patients, their families, and dentists and fellow orthodontists. He opened a second office in the Cherry Creek area of Denver in 2013 to satisfy the requests of patients and referring oral healthcare providers.

Dr. Ron feels it is essential to treat patients with the ideal modalities for their unique needs. He has successfully used the Invisalign® system for hundreds of patients. He continues to recommend traditional metal and clear (ceramic) braces, when those are the best options for the patient, as well as Insignia™ and Damon™ Smile self-ligating brackets.

Additionally, Dr. Ron uses the new and smaller iTero® Element™ digital scanner for diagnostics and treatment planning. The scanner has eliminated the need for goopy and uncomfortable impressions!

Dr. Ron is a member of the:

As a result of the quality care he provides and the smiles he creates, Dr. Ron has been chosen by his peers as a Top Orthodontist. He’s been featured in the orthodontist section of the Top Dentists in 5280 magazine every year since 2008 ... including 2017!

When he’s not creating smiles, Dr. Ron enjoys all the Colorado outdoors offers: the mountains, golf and running, mountain and road biking, snow and water activities, hiking, and fly fishing. He also seeks out cultural and culinary activities. An occasional trip to an ocean beach affords Dr. Ron time to enjoy scuba diving, kayaking, and sailing, too.
